A biosphere is a realm of life; living organisms and their environment.

A biosphere necessarily includes elements that cannot be seen, in this case heat, water, and time. These are vital to the environment that supports the living organisms. If any element is removed, the biosphere shifts, its character changes, and perhaps its ability to support life becomes questionable. Remove the heat and there is no foundation. Remove the water, there is no growth. Remove the time, everything is studded with seeds, but there are no plants.
